I strolled to the Divani Apollon – location of the IGF – this morning, taking in the coastal path. A lovely walk of 20 minutes.
The Saronic coast – for it is she – is lovely this time of year. Warm but not too hot, breezy but not uncomfortable. Athens in October comes highly recommended.
I imagined the organisers to be in a panic, but there is a sense of carefully controlled ease about the place at the moment. Not that everyone isn’t rushing about solving 50 problems an hour though.
The wireless Net is up and working, the accreditation and badging area is working. The decisions about who will be the moderators and the panellists have finally been made (there are too many panellists). And the security arrangements for the prime minister’s visit are, I am told, going ahead smoothly.
Hard-working calm. It’ll be bedlam come Monday morning of course.
