I’m off to Islay, on the Inner Hebrides, for a few days to relax on a Scottish island and get as much done on my book as I can.
I may be out of contact but more importantly I may not wish to be contactable. Especially considering that all of my favourite single malt whiskies are brewed on Islay. Bowmore, Lagavulin and, of course, Laphroaig.
Hopefully I will get some good snaps as well.
Update 10 Sep: I have now stuck the pics up here.

August 2, 2006 at 8:01 amEnjoy. If you haven’t already, give Caol Ila a shot, it’s a very decent malt and Black Bottle is a fantastic Islay blend

August 7, 2006 at 8:25 amIn fact, I finished off a bottle the night I left. Back late last night.
Caol Ila was in fact right next to the port that I arrived at. Although I didn’t have a look round it, choosing instead Laphroiag and Bruichladdich. Pictures later.
