Off to Islay

I’m off to Islay, on the Inner Hebrides, for a few days to relax on a Scottish island and get as much done on my book as I can.

I may be out of contact but more importantly I may not wish to be contactable. Especially considering that all of my favourite single malt whiskies are brewed on Islay. Bowmore, Lagavulin and, of course, Laphroaig.

Hopefully I will get some good snaps as well.

Update 10 Sep: I have now stuck the pics up here.

  1. Enjoy. If you haven’t already, give Caol Ila a shot, it’s a very decent malt and Black Bottle is a fantastic Islay blend

  2. Wholly agree about Caol Isla. My bottle is almost empty (hic)

  3. In fact, I finished off a bottle the night I left. Back late last night.

Caol Ila was in fact right next to the port that I arrived at. Although I didn’t have a look round it, choosing instead Laphroiag and Bruichladdich. Pictures later.

    Kieren

  4. So where are the pictures then? I’m still waiting 😉

  5. Yeah, Kieren! I’m beginning to think you didn’t go at all…

  6. […] Having been nagged, on my own blog an’ all, about not having posted any pics from my trip to Islay yet, I have spent a hungover Sunday afternoon perusing them, saving them and now sticking em up on this site. […]
